Walt’s Drive-A-Way Services, Inc. is a family owned and operated truckload transportation, intermodal drayage, and logistics company, based in Evansville, IN with a second location in St. Louis, MO. Our average driver and mechanic, have been with us for more than 7 years, and our longest tenured driver has been with us 34 years. That means that our mechanics are skilled at maintaining our equipment, and our drivers are skilled at taking care of our customers.
Our drivers appreciate that we update our fleet each year, and always try to offer a variety of makes (Kenworth, Freightliner, International) to our drivers. Our in-house truck and trailer maintenance staff are generally available 24 hours/day 7 days/week. Our dispatch office also has someone on-call 24 hours/day 7 days/week. Additionally, all of our trucks are equipped with a PeopleNet GPS Navigation unit that can be used to send messages to your dispatch as needed.
Walt’s Drive-A-Way offers a wide variety of transportation related services designed to meet nearly all of our customers’ needs, including intermodal drayage, local tri-state truckload services, regional short-haul truckload services and over-the-road truckload services. We also operate a fully fenced-in 40 acre depot / shipping yard with a 24 hour on-site security presence.
Through our business practices, we want to contribute to the betterment of our community. We support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Girl Scouts of America, and local schools. Additionally, we work to reduce our carbon footprint by purchasing fuel efficient tractors that are Clean Idle Certified, decreasing the amount of paper used for communications, and recycling whenever possible.
